Hello, my name is Sam. After living and working overseas for the past 6 years, I have returned to New Zealand and currently in my second year at Otago medical school. I have already completed a science degree at Otago, and since then have been working on super yachts in various parts of the world. I have a strong background in volunteering for humanitarian causes, including as a UN youth representative, local NGO’s in Central America and also youth leadership events in high school. My background in childcare started from a young age, baby sitting for neighbours, teachers and friends. More recently, I was a full-time nanny for a family of four children in France. I really love to engage with children in their learning from school, taking them on outdoor adventures and finding ways to build their self confidence. With a fair amount of life-experience and genuine care for the growth of young minds and healthy bodies, I feel that I have a sound perspective and broad knowledge of how to take care for each child’s individual needs. To add to this, I also have a background in cooking and cleaning from my work on super yachts, so if required I would be more than happy to help out around home in other ways too.
