My name is Hannah, and I am a 28 year old kiwi with years of experience working with children of all ages, from infants to preteens.
In my previous role as a qualified ski and snowboard instructor, I have been a coach to children of various age groups, backgrounds and abilities. I have worked coaching children for school holiday programs, regularly taught groups on school excursions and have done winter-long weekend programs for school aged children. In my position as an instructor I have learned to manage the varying needs of children in diverse stages of development and have honed my ability to care for each child individually, while paying close attention to the needs of the group.
Working for a babysitting agency for 3 months whilst living in the ski resort town of Niseko in Japan, I had the chance to spend more time working with infants and toddlers which I found enjoyable and very rewarding. It gave me more confidence in caring for much younger children than I had previously cared for, and helped me to develop a better understanding of their wants and needs.
I am also the oldest of 4 children so growing up was an exercise in babysitting in itself. And I don’t mind doing additional household duties, like tidying up around the house and getting dinner started if needed.
